Saturday’s headliner “Minnie Maya” Childress, released her second single, “Drippin’” earlier this year. At 9 years old, she is planning to release an EP later this year with SPMMG. She is scheduled to perform again at 2 p.m. Thursday at Brown Elementary School.

Crowe, who also has plans to record original music, said she was proud of the young people wanting to be involved in programs like Lab Ratz, which are a good outlet for taking that first step that could lead to other open doors down the line. Or at the very least, it’s about having fun.

“I am so happy to be here, and I just love Minnie Maya and am just so, so proud of her. Being somebody who started off young, to see her out there just killing it with her ‘FLEEK’N’ [single] is so great,” Crowe said. “My nieces all dance to it, so I want to support it any way I can.”
